Smoking, Alcohol, Weapons

Effective July 1, 2015, in order to promote the health of faculty, staff and students, the University prohibits smoking and the use of all tobacco and nicotine-based products, including cigarettes, chewing tobacco, electronic devices and more.There is a zero-tolerance policy at Commencement for alcohol and drugs. Students and guests determined to be impaired will be removed from Commencement.

Alcohol, drugs or weapons are not allowed on campus or in the Green Music Center.


Pursuant to SSU policy 1988-4; The consumption of alcoholic beverages in an SSU parking lot or any campus roadway is prohibited. Violators may be subject to criminal citation and fines.


Service Animals

Service Animals are welcomed at Weill Hall. As of March 15, 2011, only dogs are recognized as service animals under Title II and III of the Americans With Disabilities Act. In addition, the service dog must be individually trained to do work or perform tasks that are directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support no longer qualify as service animals under the ADA. It is a violation of penal code 597.7 to leave an animal in an unattended vehicle, if, by doing so, you endanger the health or well-being of the animal.

First Aid

An emergency first aid station and ambulance will be set up on the Upper Lawn of the Green Music Center by the restrooms. See the Maps page for the exact location.

Please remember to bring sunscreen & hats for protection against harmful UV rays. Stay hydrated and bring containers for water, as water refill stations are available inside the GMC venue.
